• In the drug store, Caleb's necklace repeatedly disappears and reappears between shots.


• When Caleb, Reid, Pogue, and Tyler are in the room reading the book of Damnation, Sarah calls Caleb about Kate. Later on in the dorm room, after Sarah's woken up from the spell, she tells Caleb she told Pogue about Kate.


• When Sarah, Kate and Chase are returning to the dorms after the party from the beginning of the movie, Kate's hair is in front of her shoulders. In the next scene, when Chase knocks a spider off her shoulder, her hair is already pushed back.


• When the doctor is talking about what is wrong with Kate, he says "It's like she was bitten by hundreds of insects, like spiders." Spiders aren't insects and a medical doctor should know that.


• In the scene where Sarah is in the library, Kate comes and leans on the table next to her. When we first see her close up, her ponytail is dangling by her head, it zooms out and the ponytail is on her back, again it zooms in and is in front of her face, zooms back out and it's on her back again.


• When Caleb is in his bed his perspiration disappears in the next shot after he wakes up to the ghost.


• The string on Steven Strait's harness is visible during the battle in the barn when Caleb and Chase are throwing farm equipment at each other.


• In the last scene when Caleb raises his hand to mend the windscreen, just as the windscreen is mended near his raised hand, his hand rises again from the bottom displaying the 'millisecond' overlapping mistake of the film editor.


• While driving Sarah to his family's first settlement house, Caleb points out the Old Putnam Barn. While they are driving it is not raining, but during the shot of the barn it is raining pretty heavily (probably due to the weather during shooting). The next shot is back to normal with no rain.


• When Caleb leaves the barroom dance with Sarah, he asks her to get his jacket, then rushes off outside. When he comes out the door, he is wearing the jacket.


• In the scene where Kate is talking to Caleb in the store we can see Sarah step out from behind an isle and in the next shot she steps out again.


• When the car crashes into the truck hauling the lumber, you see a few trees fall off the sides. When he looks back and sees the truck driving away, the road is clear. Also, the truck shows no damage and the car is put back together.


• During the scene at Nicky's, Pogue tells Caleb that Reid and Tyler are there and Caleb responds with, "Great, that's trouble." But when he says that's trouble, his lips don't actually move.


• Chase tells Pogue and Caleb that he heard they were swimmers while the pair are playing foosball at Nicky's, but his mouth doesn't quite match up to the words, almost as if he's yelling it and then it was voiced over.

• The spider that Chase stepped on is CG, as were all the spiders.


• The outdoor shots of Spenser Academy were made at Bishop's University, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, filmed in the fall of 2005. The director had to compromise on many of the shots as it rained for much of the duration of filming.


• In the movie there are 5 Brothers of Ipswich. The time when Caleb ascends on his birthday is 11:12 PM. 1+1+1+2 equals 5, maybe connecting to the fact that there are 5 Brothers.


• Tyler is a year younger than the rest of the boys.


• Caleb's parents are Evelyn and William Danvers III, Pogue's parents are Beatrice and Wayne Parry, Reid's parents are Meredith and Joseph Garwin, and Tyler's parents are Rosalind and Glenn Sims.


• Renny Harlin is known for putting tidbits of Finnish culture in his movies. In the Convenant he has hung a famous Finnish painting on Sarah's wall. It is painted by Hugo Simberg and it's called "Haavoittunut enkeli" ("Wounded Angel"). It has an angel in it and there are two boys carrying her away.


• Despite the popular misconception, 'The Covenant' is not based on a novel, graphic novel or any comic-book title. The confusion comes from the fact that Sony had a comic-book of the same name created for the purposes of promoting the movie. Just prior to the release of this movie, Top Cow Comics printed a four part comic-book miniseries by Aron Coleite and Tone Rodriguez entitled The Covenant. Neither the authors of the comic-book miniseries nor Top Cow Comics is mentioned in the movies' credit sequences, so the comic-book miniseries is not regarded as source material by the makers of this movie.


• During the shooting of the police chase early in the film, the camera crane got caught on the roof lights of the police car as the vehicle was swerving under it. Nobody was injured, but the car and crane were damaged and the camera was destroyed, along with a light rig on top of the camera.


• According to the DVD commentary, the filming of the beach party took place in December. The original location was flooded shortly before the scene was shot, and the scene had to be rescheduled at a new location at the last minute. The location that ended up in the film was a sand quarry.


• About 200 extras appear in the party scene that opens the film. The were recruited about two days before shooting, partially through the help of local club and radio DJs in Montreal. They worked for two nights in freezing weather.


• The outside Danvers mansion, which is always seen from far away, is really a derelict water purification facility, with some window lighting and greenery added by the production team.


• During a discussion on Stephen King, Reid is quoted as saying "Dreamcatcher was the shit!" The book Dreamcatcher is about four boyhood friends with supernatural powers, much like the film.
